Mesocosm Experiment D26

Today is a non-sampling day and but we have our second mesocosm meeting.

We wanted to check our results and discuss if and for how long our experiment will continue…

After a long discussion we agreed to continue the experiment for 3 more weeks but to skip some intermediate samplings. Thus our new schedule includes one sampling/week for water and sediment samples from the mesocosm bags.

1st meeting of WP3 research team

Written by nafsika on . Posted in Activities, Meetings

The meeting was held at the HCMR and brought the major partners of the Mesocosm Experiments together.

The division of the work was discussed and specific tasks were given to every team member participating in this WP.

It was decided the experimental procedure followed based on the hypotheses to be tested.

2nd meeting of WP1.2 research team

Written by nafsika on . Posted in Activities, Meetings

The various approaches of coupling water column and sediment dynamics were discussed. Finally to ensure mass balance and retain model simplicity it was decided to link a dynamic, vertically resolved model for the water column with a dynamic vertically integrated model for the sediment.

In addition the role of the different variables (state variables, external variables etc) in the models was discussed.
