Dr. Emmanuil Ladoukakis
Assistant Professor at the Biology Department of the University of Crete (UoC)
He received his PhD from the Department of Biology, University of Crete and he continued for post doctorate studies at the Centre for the Study of Evolution, University of Sussex, UK, where he also worked as a lecturer. His research interests are on mitochondrial evolution, molecular evolution, population genetics and genetic structure of microbial communities. He has published 22 original papers in international peer review journals with more than 450 citations. Recently he has been awarded with the Fulbright Foundation scholarship.
In the framework of HYPOXIA project he participates in the work packages 2-6, studying the effect of hypoxia in the structure of microbial communities. Also, he will investigate the population and evolution of the polychaete worm Capitella.
